DePaul Spartans (Wayne, NJ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Union Catholic Vikings (Scotch Plains, NJ), 59-52 in a non-league challenge.

With the victory, DePaul improves its record to 20-6 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, NJ) to battle the Ironmen in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 5. The Ironmen come into the challenge with a record of 21-4. Don Bosco Prep won 71-54 in their recent non-league challenge against Paramus Catholic (Paramus, NJ)

Next up, the Vikings battle the Rahway Indians (Rahway, NJ) in a Mountain Valley - Mountain challenge, on Tuesday, April 3. Union Catholic will attempt to improve on its 11-12 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 20-4 record after their 55-44 non-league loss to West Morris Mendham (Mendham, NJ).
