May 15, 2009: Las Vegas, NV 89148 Cimarron-Memorial Spartans (Las Vegas, NV) followers left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their baseball team gain a win over the host Bishop Gorman Gaels (Las Vegas, NV), 10-2 in a non-league game.
Game Summary
Cimarron-Memorial took advantage of seven walks and three hit batsman, combined with 13 hits to topple Bishop Gorman, 10-2 in the Sunset Regional championship game Friday at Sierra Vista High.
With the victory, Cimarron advances to the state tournament next week.
The loss ended Gorman's 36-game winning streak. The Gaels are now 37-4.
Cimarron's Sam Lindsey limited Gorman to just five hits in going the distance. He struck out four and walked two.
Gorman will face Las Vegas Saturday with the winner advancing to the state tournament.
