Game Summary
Teton defeated Sugar-Salem in the opening game of the Mountain Rivers Conference tournament on Friday in Driggs. Redskin pitcher Preston Hadfield struck out 14 Diggers as Teton cruised to an 8-5 victory. Teton scored five runs in the second inning as the team racked up six base hits and a walk off from Sugar-Salem starting pitcher Jared Bohman. Braiden Jorgensen singled to centerfield to score Logan Petersen to tie the game at one run each. Joe Madsen doubled in Jorgensen, Sean Riley walked, and Mark Brewster singled home two more runs before Nathan Park scored pinch runner Taylor Petersen with a sacrifice fly to left field. Teton extended their lead to 8-2 in the fifth inning by scoring three more runs. Riley and Brewster added the crucial runs batted in to help pad the Redskin lead. Hadfield withstood a Digger rally in the seventh inning after allowing three runs by striking out three batters to end the game.
