Game Recap: On a cool cloudy evening at Poly’s stadium, City faced the Dunbar Poets, last season’s 1A state champion and currently #5 ranked locally. City, listed in the “best of the rest” portion of the rankings, was hoping for a win to put them into the Top 10. Fourth Quarter
Unfortunately for City it was more of the same tough sledding in the 2nd half as Dunbar stifling defense stuffed City on two 4th & short plays and in general was just too good to ever allow City to move the ball and get anywhere near the end zone. City’s defense was pretty stout too, but despite another interception by City’s S. Wilkens and a fumble recovery in Dunbar territory at the very end of the 3rd Qtr by City’s B. Jones, City could not muster any 2nd half point. Neither could Dunbar and so the 18 - 6 score at the end of the 1st half was also the score at the end of the hard-fought game.
