Michigan High School Baseball - Groves wallops Roosevelt
April 3, 2013: Wyandotte, MI 48192 Spectators at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Groves Falcons (Beverly Hills, MI) and the host Roosevelt Bears (Wyandotte, MI), saw Groves's baseball squad knock off Roosevelt by a count of 13-3.
Coming up next, the Falcons play the Bishop Foley Ventures (Madison Heights, MI) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, April 6. Groves will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Ventures go into the match with a 5-0 record after their 9-0 non-league win over Andover (Bloomfield Hills, MI).
The Bears (2-3) will now prepare for their match against Trenton (Trenton, MI). The Trojans go into the Downriver match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Trenton gained a win over St. Mary Catholic Central (Monroe, MI), 7-3, in a non-league match.
Game Summary
Ben London started on the mound for Groves and picked up the win, throwing four scoreless innings. Ben had six strike outs and walked one, allowing four hits. Malik Brown had three hits for Groves and 4RBI's. spencer picked up four RBI's with two hits. Groves had nine hits to complete the win.
This win moved Groves to 2-2 on the season and in the Oakland County Tournament. Groves will now play in the semi finals of the Oakland County Tournament on Saturday morning at 9:00 at Rochester and Groves will play Bishop Foley.
