December 12, 2014: Eagle Pass, TX 78852 Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (Nixon, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Winn Mavericks (Eagle Pass, TX), 73-49 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Nixon-Smiley upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Pearsall (Pearsall, TX) to play the Mavericks in a non-league bout on Friday, December 12. The Mavericks go into the bout with a record of 7-5. Pearsall won 55-33 in their recent non-league bout against Lytle (Lytle, TX)
In their next game, the Mavericks face the Uvalde Coyotes (Uvalde, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 29 game, on Saturday, December 13. Winn will attempt to move on its 2-9 season record. The Coyotes enter the game with a 4-4 record after their 43-41 non-league win over Poth (Poth, TX).
