Game Summary

The Sherman Oaks Notre Dame Knights (12-2 Overall / 3-0 League)resumed Mission League play with a victory over Loyola Cubs at Loyola, by the score of 5-4. The Knights scored the go ahead run in the top of the 7th inning. LHP Nik Rodarte (5-0) tossed 6 complete innings, with 9 strike outs, 4 walks, and 4 runs on 6 hits. The senior also had 3 hits himself, in 4 plate appearances,producing 2 RBI's, including a home run, and a single in the top of the 7th that broke the 4-4 tie, and proved to be the game winning hit. Junior Nick LaFace kept the Knights in the game in more ways than one. He had a two-run homer to deep center field, a double and he threw out a batter from deep left field, who was trying to stretch a single into a two bagger, to end the 6th inning and the Loyola threat to break the tie in their favor.
