Utah High School Basketball - Pleasant Grove held off by Maple Mountain
January 4, 2012: Pleasant Grove, UT 84062 In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles (Spanish Fork, UT) basketball squad edged the host Pleasant Grove Vikings (Pleasant Grove, UT), by a count of 56-53.
The Golden Eagles (2-5) will now prepare for their outing against Springville (Springville, UT). The Red Devils go into the 4A Region 8 outing with a 6-0 record. In their last outing, Springville nipped Westlake (Saratoga Springs, UT), 50-49, in a non-league outing.
The Vikings now hold a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they host Bingham for a 5A Region 4 outing on Friday, January 13. Pleasant Grove will encounter a Miners squad coming off a 38-35 non-league loss to Alta (Sandy, UT). The Miners record now stands at 5-9.
