In Friday's league match, the host Red Mountain Mountain Lions basketball team scored a good 54-40 triumph over the Mountain Pointe Pride.

In their next game, the Mountain Lions meet the Desert Ridge Jaguars (Mesa, AZ) in a I Section 2 match, on Tuesday, January 13. Red Mountain will attempt to move on its 10-6 season record. The Jaguars enter the match with a 8-7 record after their 57-56 league loss to Highland (Gilbert, AZ).
