In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Liberty Panthers football squad scored a good 35-20 victory over the Newton Eagles.

In their next game, the Panthers clash with the Buna Cougars (Buna, TX) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 13. Liberty will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 1-1 record after their 18-13 non-league loss to Kirbyville (Kirbyville, TX).
