March 14, 2011: Potomac, MD 20854 The The Heights (Potomac, MD) baseball trounced the visiting Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers (Washington, DC), 10-2 in Monday's non-league contest.
Coming up next, the play the Bishop McNamara Mustangs (Forestville, MD) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, March 16. The Heights will attempt to better on its 3-0 season record.
The Mighty Hoppers now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Stephen's & St. Agnes for a non-league contest on Wednesday, March 16. Georgetown Day will play a Saints squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Paul VI (Fairfax, VA). The Saints record now stands at 0-2.
Game Summary
The Cavaliers won with a good overall effort. Great pitching by junior Jack Linehan, and big hits from seniors Luke McCabe, Adan Ramos and captain Nolan Kime led the way. Junior captain Joe Kelly came back for his first game of the year and caught a great game behind the dish.
After a fast start, the Heights lifted off the gas pedal a bit and went into a holding pattern before tacking on some runs near the end to put the Hoppers away. The Cavaliers sit at 3-0 as they face off with WCAC opponent, Bishop McNamara, Wednesday.
