August 30, 2011: Riverview, MI 48192 In Tuesday's non-league battle, the host Richard Pioneers soccer squad scored a close 5-1 triumph over the Lutheran South Saints.
The Pioneers (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Adrian (Adrian, MI). The Maples come into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record.
The Saints (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against Calvary Christian Academy (Ypsilanti, MI). The Cougars come into the Michigan Independent - Red battle with a 0-0 record.
Game Summary
On Tuesday, August 30th, Lutheran South traveled to Riverview to battle Gabriel Richard. Some uncharacteristic play in the first half found the Saints trailing 4-0. However, the second half was a different story as the Saints dominated the attacking play by outshooting Gabriel Richard 15-10 with a great deal of quality chances coming from attacking defenders Tyler Blohm and Michael Roebke. Senior center midfielder Nate Konkel scored for the Saints off of a Tyler Blohm deflection. The Saints drop to 2-2 (0-0). Despite the loss, to God be the Glory!
