Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Walkersville Lions (Walkersville, MD) and the host Middletown Knights (Middletown, MD), saw Walkersville's basketball squad knock off Middletown by a tally of 53-39.

With the victory, Walkersville improves its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Lions host Urbana (Ijamsville, MD) to play the Hawks in a MVAL - Piedmont challenge on Tuesday, January 13. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 6-1. Urbana won 60-39 in their recent league challenge against Linganore (Frederick, MD)

Next up, the Knights play the Frederick Cadets (Frederick, MD) in a MVAL - Piedmont challenge, on Tuesday, January 13. Middletown will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record.
