California High School Softball - Patriot bounces Norte Vista
March 28, 2012: Riverside, CA 92509 Spectators at Wednesday's league match between the Patriot Warriors (Riverside, CA) and the visiting Norte Vista Braves (Riverside, CA), witnessed Patriot's softball squad prevail over Norte Vista by a count of 12-0.
The Warriors now sport a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Kaiser for a Sunkist match on Friday, March 30. Patriot will face a Cats squad coming off a 13-0 league win over Jurupa Valley (Jurupa Valley, CA). The Cats record now stands at 7-6.
With the loss, Norte Vista moves to 2-9 on the season. The Braves travel to Summit (Fontana, CA) to encounter the SkyHawks in a Sunkist test on Friday, March 30. The SkyHawks enter the test with a record of 6-5. Summit won 6-3 in their recent league test against Jurupa Valley (Jurupa Valley, CA)
Game Summary
Kyla Colburn tossed a 2-hit shutout, to lead Patriot striking out three and walking none. Danyelle Sturm led the Warriors in hitting with 2 homeruns and four runs batted in, while Stacy Cavazos stroked a homerun and single, Kellsy Russell banged out three hits including a double and three RBIs, and Jenae Lockwood and Diamond Turner turned in two hit games as well.
