Maryland High School Basketball - Bishop McNamara nips St. Mary's Ryken
January 25, 2011: Forestville, MD 20747 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Bishop McNamara Mustangs (Forestville, MD) and the visiting St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD), saw Bishop McNamara's basketball squad hold off St. Mary's Ryken by a score of 70-63.
The Mustangs (17-3) will now prepare for their test against Paul VI (Fairfax, VA). The Panthers go into the VISAA Division 1 test with a 13-6 record. In their last test, Paul VI got by Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD), 68-51, in a non-league test.
The now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they host St. John's for a Washington Catholic test on Friday, January 28. St. Mary's Ryken will clash with a Cadets squad coming off a 52-50 non-league win over Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, VA). The Cadets record now stands at 10-6.
