Virginia High School Football - Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] can't get by Clintwood
September 30, 2011: Clintwood, VA 24228 Clintwood Green Wave (Clintwood, VA) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team nip the visiting Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] Bears (Appalachia, VA), 30-26 in a league test.
With the triumph, Clintwood improves its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Green Wave host Lee (Jonesville, VA) to confront the Generals in a A Western test on Friday, October 7. The Generals come into the test with a record of 1-4. Lee lost 51-50 in their recent non-league test against Central [Kelly/Pound] (Wise, VA)
With the loss, Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] drops to 3-2 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Sullivan North (Kingsport, TN) to confront the Raiders in a non-league test on Friday, October 7. The Raiders come into the test with a record of 7-0. Sullivan North won 47-15 in their recent league test against Johnson County (Mountain City, TN)
