Connecticut High School Basketball - Hillhouse topples Mercy

In Friday's non-league outing, the Hillhouse Academics (New Haven, CT) basketball squad beat the visiting Mercy Tigers (Middletown, CT), by a margin of 61-53.

The Academics (14-2) will now prepare for their outing against Guilford (Guilford, CT). The Indians go into the Southern Connecticut - Hammonasset outing with a 5-12 record. In their last outing, Guilford was topped by Hand (Madison, CT), 59-37, in a league outing.

The Tigers now own a 13-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hamden for a Southern Connecticut - Quinnipiac outing on Tuesday, February 7. Mercy will encounter a Green Dragons squad coming off a 57-52 non-league loss to Cheshire (Cheshire, CT). The Green Dragons record now stands at 8-9.
