Connersville Spartans (Connersville, IN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Valparaiso Vikings (Valparaiso, IN), 32-28 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Connersville upgrades its record to 6-5 on the season. The Spartans travel to East Central (St. Leon, IN) to play the Trojans in a non-league bout on Friday, January 2. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 2-6. East Central lost 67-56 in their recent non-league bout against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger (Fort Wayne, IN)

Next up, the Vikings play the Portage Indians (Portage, IN) in a Duneland bout, on Saturday, January 3. Valparaiso will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 78-42 non-league win over Tindley (Indianapolis, IN).
