North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence can't hold off Myers Park

January 9, 2012: Charlotte, NC 28209

The Myers Park Mustangs basketball team scored 76 points and held the visiting Independence Patriots to 70 in the Mustangs league triumph on Monday.

The Mustangs now sport a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rocky River for a 4A Southwestern contest on Friday, January 13. Myers Park will meet a Ravens team coming off a 54-52 league win over Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, NC). The Ravens record now stands at 7-8.

The Patriots (1-15) will now prepare for their contest against Butler (Matthews, NC). The Bulldogs enter the 4A Southwestern contest with a 8-6 record. In their last contest, Butler was nudged by South Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC), 71-66, in a league contest.
