January 7, 2012: Bellevue, NE 68005 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Bellevue East Chieftains (Bellevue, NE) and the visiting Papillion-LaVista Monarchs (Papillion, NE), saw Bellevue East's basketball squad hold off Papillion-LaVista by a score of 44-41.
With the victory, Bellevue East improves its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Chieftains host Millard South (Omaha, NE) to battle the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 13. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 4-8. Millard South lost 47-43 in their recent non-league challenge against Omaha Westside (Omaha, NE)
Next up, the Monarchs battle the Burke Bulldogs (Omaha, NE) in a A District 4 challenge, on Friday, January 13. Papillion-LaVista will attempt to improve on its 8-2 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 3-9 record after their 50-44 non-league loss to Papillion-LaVista South (Papillion, NE).
