Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Lawrence County Cougars (Monticello, MS) and the host South Pike Eagles (Magnolia, MS), saw Lawrence County's basketball squad hold off South Pike by a count of 82-78.

With the victory, Lawrence County upgrades its record to 11-8 on the campaign. The Cougars host North Pike (Summit, MS) to play the Jaguars in a 4A Region 7 challenge on Friday, January 14. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 8-8. North Pike won 69-62 in their recent league challenge against Columbia (Columbia, MS)

Next up, the Eagles play the Crystal Springs Tigers (Crystal Springs, MS) in a 4A Region 7 challenge, on Friday, January 14. South Pike will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record.
