Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Chestnut Ridge nips Meyersdale
February 2, 2009: Meyersdale, PA 15552 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Chestnut Ridge Lions (New Paris, PA) and the host Meyersdale Red Raiders (Meyersdale, PA), saw Chestnut Ridge's basketball squad hold off Meyersdale by a score of 45-42.
With the victory, Chestnut Ridge improves its record to 5-10 on the campaign. The Lions host McConnellsburg (McConnellsburg, PA) to battle the Spartans in a Sideling Hill challenge on Tuesday, February 3. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 8-9. McConnellsburg won 36-27 in their recent non-league challenge against Cumberland Valley Christian (Chambersburg, PA)
Next up, the Red Raiders battle the Shade Panthers (Cairnbrook, PA) in a Western Pennsylvania - Southern challenge, on Thursday, February 5. Meyersdale will attempt to improve on its 9-8 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 12-6 record after their 70-33 league win over Salisbury Elk Lick (Salisbury, PA).
