North Carolina High School Basketball - Alexander Central nudges Watauga

February 5, 2013: Boone, NC 28607

Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), 56-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Alexander Central upgrades its record to 19-3 on the season. The Cougars host South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to clash with the Spartans in a 4A/3A Northwestern bout on Tuesday, February 12. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 1-4.

Next up, the Pioneers clash with the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a 4A/3A Northwestern bout, on Friday, February 8. Watauga will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record.
