Michigan High School Baseball - Mt. Pleasant can't hold off Shepherd
May 26, 2010: Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858 In Wednesday's non-league game, the visiting Shepherd Bluejays baseball team scored a tight 6-5 victory over the Mt. Pleasant Oilers.
The Bluejays (30-3) will now prepare for their game against Swan Valley (Saginaw, MI). The Vikings go into the Tri-Valley - Central game with a 6-0 record. In their last game, Swan Valley tipped Chesaning (Chesaning, MI), 13-3, in a league game.
Game Summary
Chad Detwiler and kept the Jays in the game with six solid innings. The Blue Jays led 5-4 going into the bottom of the 7th, when Colton Loomis replaced Detwiler with the leadoff hitter on second. MP tied the game, but the Jays got a double from Josh Ellis to lead off the 8th and Caleb Crawford, who was running for Ellis scored on a single by Joe Pifer. Troy Stressman led the offense with 3 hits, including a 2 run triple that put the Jays ahead in the top of the 7th. Wes Kenny added 2 singles, as did Nathan Bellinger.
