With the win, Foard moves its record to 22-5 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Cardinal Gibbons (Raleigh, NC) to battle the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 15. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 23-2. Cardinal Gibbons won 1-0 in their recent non-league bout against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC)
Game Summary
Wyatt Shely scored the opening goal on a ball crossed in low from the right side by Zach Durham at the 17 min mark.
The halftime score then was 1-0. In the second half Weddington came out with a lot more urgency to get to goal but the Foard defense stood strong and denied any threatening shots on goal in the run of play. Weddington had countless, dangerous, restarts from throw ins and direct free kicks but none found the back of the net. Then with around 10 minutes remaining Wyatt Shely took a ball from the upper left side of the penalty box and beat a few Weddington defenders to strike the second Tiger goal.
