Washington, DC High School Basketball - Archbishop Carroll prevails St. Mary's Ryken
January 17, 2012: Washington, DC 20001 Archbishop Carroll Lions (Washington, DC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad knock off the visiting St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD), 69-52 in a league challenge.
With the victory, Archbishop Carroll improves its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Lions host Bishop McNamara (Forestville, MD) to battle the Mustangs in a Washington Catholic challenge on Friday, January 20. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 10-9. Bishop McNamara lost 90-75 in their recent league challenge against DeMatha (Hyattsville, MD)
Next up, the battle the South Shore (Norwell, MA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 20. St. Mary's Ryken will attempt to improve on its 4-14 season record. The come into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 61-31 league win over Salem Academy (Salem, MA).
