The Independence Eagles basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Franklin Rebels to 41 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now sport a 17-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ravenwood for a AAA District 11 contest on Tuesday, January 31. Independence will confront a Raptors team coming off a 52-51 league loss to Centennial (Franklin, TN). The Raptors record now stands at 13-7.

The Rebels (7-12) will now prepare for their contest against Summit (Spring Hill, TN). The Spartans enter the non-league contest with a 4-14 record. In their last contest, Summit lost by Marshall County (Lewisburg, TN), 49-34, in a league contest.
