New Jersey High School Basketball - Paramus Catholic nipped by Hackensack
February 12, 2012: Hackensack, NJ 07601 The Hackensack Comets tipped the visiting Paramus Catholic Paladins basketball team by a final score of 75-70 in Sunday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Comets face the Fair Lawn CUTTERS (Fair Lawn, NJ) in a Big North - VI game, on Tuesday, February 14. Hackensack will attempt to move on its 15-5 season record. The CUTTERS enter the game with a 8-14 record after their 57-36 non-league win over Nutley (Nutley, NJ).
With the defeat, Paramus Catholic moves to 11-6 on the year. The Paladins host Passaic County Tech (Wayne, NJ) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league game on Monday, February 13. The Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 14-6. Passaic County Tech lost 56-47 in their recent non-league game against Kennedy (Paterson, NJ)
First Quarter
Hackensack started off quick with 21 pts in the 1st quarter, beating PC 21-16.
Second Quarter
Pc won the 2nd quarter with 7pts from Kyle Menard & 4pts from Mike Allford, PC won the quarter 14 to 9. and the score was 30-30 at the half.
Third Quarter
Hackensack came back with 5pts from Chris Meyers & 4pts from teammate Rashad Figures, Hackensack beat PC 19to 14 in the 3rd quarter.
Fourth Quarter
Hackensack went 12 for 22 from the foul line but PC was unable to capitalize on Hackensack's mistakes. both teams scored 26pts each. Hackensack won the game 75-70, (3) players for PC were hurt and could not play. Kyle Menard had a monster game with 26pts & 14 rebs, 3 blk 2 stls. Mike Allford scored 13pts, 6asst, 4rebs.
