In Sunday's non-league challenge, the New Milford Green Wave (New Milford, CT) ice hockey team nudged the visiting Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT), by a margin of 2-1.

The Green Wave now possess a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Masuk for a South-West - DII challenge on Monday, February 18. New Milford will clash with a Panthers team coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Housatonic/Northwestern (Falls Village, CT). The Panthers record now stands at 9-6.

The Nighthawks (8-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Joel Barlow (Redding, CT). The Falcons enter the South-West - DII challenge with a 3-13 record. In their last challenge, Joel Barlow was edged by New Fairfield/Immaculate (New Fairfield, CT), 7-0, in a league challenge.

Newtown came out with high tempo and energy in the third period and pinned down NewMilford in their zone.
