March 30, 2009: Hyattsville, MD 20781 Calvert Hall Cardinals (Baltimore, MD) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the host DeMatha Stags (Hyattsville, MD), 5-4 in a non-league test.
With the win, Calvert Hall upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Cardinals host Archbishop Spalding (Severn, MD) to battle the Cavaliers in a MIAA A test on Tuesday, March 31. The Cavaliers come into the test with a record of 1-1. Archbishop Spalding lost 6-5 in their recent league test against Loyola Blakefield (Towson, MD)
With the defeat, DeMatha falls to 5-3 on the season. The Stags host O'Connell (Arlington, VA) to battle the Knights in a Washington Catholic test on Tuesday, March 31. The Knights come into the test with a record of 3-4. O'Connell lost 9-0 in their recent league test against St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD)
