In Friday's non-league outing, the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) basketball team tipped the visiting Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC), by a final score of 40-38.

In their next game, the Warriors meet the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a 3A Southern Carolina match, on Tuesday, January 6. Weddington will attempt to move on its 11-2 season record. The Cavaliers enter the match with a 9-3 record after their 54-47 non-league loss to Forest Hills (Marshville, NC).
