St. Albans Red Dragons (St. Albans, WV) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Ripley Vikings (Ripley, WV), 63-60 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Albans upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Red Dragons host Nitro (Nitro, WV) to clash with the Wildcats in a Mountain State test on Tuesday, December 13. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 1-1. Nitro lost 73-54 in their recent league test against South Charleston (South Charleston, WV)

The Vikings now own a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Parkersburg for a Mountain State test on Wednesday, December 14. Ripley will clash with a Big Reds squad coming off a 72-58 league loss to Wilson (Beckley, WV). The Big Reds record now stands at 1-1.
