In Saturday's league match, the visiting Monte Vista Pirates basketball team scored a tight 46-42 triumph over the Alamosa Maroons.

In their next game, the Pirates meet the Center Vikings (Center, CO) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, February 12. Monte Vista will attempt to move on its 8-7 season record. The Vikings enter the match with a 4-11 record after their 52-40 league win over Antonito (Antonito, CO).
