August 26, 2011: Harrison, TN 37341 The Chattanooga Central Pounders football squad scored 29 points and restricted the visiting Polk County Wildcats to 13 in the Pounders non-league victory on Friday.
The Pounders now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Hamilton for a AA District 6 battle on Friday, September 2. Chattanooga Central will face a Hurricanes squad coming off a 45-13 non-league loss to Ooltewah (Ooltewah, TN). The Hurricanes record now stands at 0-2.
Coming up next, the Wildcats encounter the McMinn Central Chargers (Englewood, TN) in a AA District 5 contest, on Friday, September 2. Polk County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Chargers go into the contest with a 0-2 record after their 42-27 non-league loss to Notre Dame (Chattanooga, TN).
