December 31, 2014: Centralia, IL 62801 In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) basketball squad beat the visiting Alton Redbirds (Alton, IL), by a count of 45-33.
The Orphans (12-2) will now prepare for their outing against Champaign Central (Champaign, IL). The Maroons enter the non-league match with a 5-6 record. In their last match, Champaign Central knocked off Belleville West (Belleville, IL), 55-52, in a non-league match.
With the defeat, Alton moves to 11-2 on the year. The Redbirds host Belleville West (Belleville, IL) to face the Maroons in a Southwestern match on Saturday, January 10. The Maroons enter the match with a record of 4-6.
