The Newton Tigers (Newton, MS) basketball nipped the visiting Scott Central Rebels (Forest, MS), 60-57 in Tuesday's league test.

The Tigers (12-7) will now prepare for their test against Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 1-15 record. In their last test, Bay Springs was tipped by Heidelberg (Heidelberg, MS), 48-33, in a non-league test.
