Game Summary
The Wildcats beat Saugus for the first time in school history, to take over first place in the Foothill League. Trevor Fredrickson had another amazing pitching performance as he went the distance, allowing no earned runs while striking out 6 Centurion batters.
On offense the Wildcat bats got hot in the 4th inning when they scored 3 runs to take the lead for good. Cal Vogelsang doubled to get things started. Jake Bernards drove him in with a triple. Casey Watkins singled in Bernards to tie things up. Mitchell Thompson then doubled in Watkins with the go ahead run. In the bottom of the 5th, Vogelsang singled in Max Blaha. In the 6th, Mitchell Thompson reached base on a walk, and ended up scoring on a Jared Ortiz single. After a Trevor Fredrickson single and a Nico Risconi walk, Vogelsang hit a grand slam to put the game out of reach. Vogelsang ended the day 3 for 4 with a single, double, grand slam, and 5 RBIs. Jake Bernards and Max Blaha both finished the day with 2 hits.
