Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Blue Mountain Cougars (Blue Mountain, MS) and the host Ashland Blue Devils (Ashland, MS), witnessed Blue Mountain's basketball squad nip Ashland by a margin of 66-62.

The Cougars (19-7) will now prepare for their test against Myrtle (Myrtle, MS). The Hawks go into the 1A Region 2 test with a 12-10 record.

The Blue Devils now own a 9-12 record. They play next when they travel to West Union for a 1A Region 2 test on Friday, February 7. Ashland will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 52-46 non-league win over Vardaman (Vardaman, MS). The Eagles record now stands at 8-19.
