Virginia High School Football - Amherst County knocks off Jefferson Forest
October 10, 2008: Amherst, VA 24521 The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) and the visiting Jefferson Forest Cavaliers (Jefferson, VA), observed Amherst County's football squad thwart Jefferson Forest by a tally of 35-6.
The Lancers now possess a 6-1 record. They play next when they travel to Liberty for a Seminole AA contest on Friday, October 17. Amherst County will play a Minutemen squad coming off a 36-14 league loss to Brookville (Lynchburg, VA). The Minutemen record now stands at 5-2.
Coming up next, the Cavaliers play the Rustburg Devils (Rustburg, VA) in a Seminole AA contest, on Friday, October 17. Jefferson Forest will attempt to advance on its 4-3 season record. The Devils go into the contest with a 2-5 record after their 40-34 non-league win over Alleghany (Covington, VA).
