New Jersey High School Basketball - Paramus Catholic fells Pascack Valley
February 17, 2011: Paramus, NJ 07652 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Paramus Catholic Paladins (Paramus, NJ) and the visiting Pascack Valley Indians (Hillsdale, NJ), saw Paramus Catholic's basketball squad overcome Pascack Valley by a count of 75-56.
With the victory, Paramus Catholic upgrades its record to 13-7 on the campaign. The Paladins host Northern Valley Regional (Demarest, NJ) to play the Norsemen in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 22. The Norsemen come into the challenge with a record of 12-10.
Next up, the Indians play the Dumont Huskies (Dumont, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 22. Pascack Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 14-3 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 3-19 record after their 53-37 league loss to Ridgefield Park (Ridgefield Park, NJ).
First Quarter
Both team started hot, PC Justin Harris jump right in by scoring 9 pts with help from freshmen Jalen Henriquez with 7 pts & soph Tommy Rivera 5 pts PC won the 1st quarter over Pascack Valley 27 to 21
Second Quarter
Just as quick as the scoring was in the 1st it stopes in the 2nd, with defense PC still won the quarter 8 to 7 and lead at the half 35-28
Third Quarter
PC picked the pace back up in the 3rd quarter with 4 pts by Eiljah Davis & Jalen Henriquez & a pair of threes from Sean Ruane & Daruis Christmas. PC pushed there lead by win the quarter 20 to 15 & lead after 3 quarters 55-43
Fourth Quarter
Tommy Rivera got hot with 6 pts in the final period . Davis & Harris both had 4pts PC won the quarter 20 to13 and the game 75-56. Harris scored his 1000 point in the 2nd quarter. PV did not have the luxury of shooting 32 foulshots that they had in the jamboree game, which helped them bet PC last Sunday.
