Virginia High School Football - Stuart drops to Mount Vernon
October 6, 2011: Alexandria, VA 22309 In Thursday's league game, the Mount Vernon Majors (Alexandria, VA) football team knocked off the visiting Stuart Raiders (Falls Church, VA), by a score of 35-21.
The Majors (4-2) will now prepare for their game against Hayfield (Alexandria, VA). The Hawks come into the AAA National game with a 4-2 record. In their last game, Hayfield toppled Wakefield (Arlington, VA), 47-23, in a league game.
The Raiders now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host Edison for a AAA National game on Friday, October 14. Stuart will battle a Eagles team coming off a 42-20 league loss to Yorktown (Arlington, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-4.
