In Friday's non-league match, the host Mountain Pointe Pride basketball team scored a tight 49-45 triumph over the Centennial Coyotes.

In their next game, the Pride confront the Desert Ridge Jaguars (Mesa, AZ) in a 5A East Valley match, on Tuesday, February 1. Mountain Pointe will attempt to move on its 17-4 season record.

With the defeat, Centennial moves to 10-14 on the year. The Coyotes travel to Tolleson (Tolleson, AZ) to confront the Wolverines in a 5A Desert West match on Tuesday, February 1. The Wolverines enter the match with a record of 19-5. Tolleson won 54-18 in their recent league match against Ironwood (Glendale, AZ)
