The Palmview Lobos (La Joya, TX) baseball nipped the visiting Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX), 2-1 in Friday's league contest.

Coming up next, the Lobos play the Sharyland Rattlers (Mission, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 contest, on Tuesday, April 16. Palmview will attempt to better on its 16-6 season record. The Rattlers enter the contest with a 24-1 record after their 12-1 league win over Donna (Donna, TX).

The Sabercats now sport a 8-15 record. They take the field next when they travel to United for a non-league contest on Saturday, April 13. Vela will play a Longhorns squad coming off a 10-3 league win over Eagle Pass (Eagle Pass, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 19-1.
