October 3, 2014: Akron, OH 44303 The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish (Akron, OH) and the visiting GlenOak Golden Eagles (Canton, OH), observed St. Vincent-St. Mary's football squad defeat GlenOak by a count of 28-20.
The Fighting Irish now own a 5-2 record. They play next when they host Thurgood Marshall for a non-league contest on Saturday, October 11. St. Vincent-St. Mary will clash with a Cougars squad coming off a 69-28 league win over Meadowdale (Dayton, OH). The Cougars record now stands at 3-3.
The Golden Eagles (4-2) will now prepare for their bout against McKinley (Canton, OH). The Bulldogs enter the Federal bout with a 2-4 record. In their last bout, McKinley thwarted Jackson (Massillon, OH), 36-24, in a league bout.
