The Vance Cougars football team (Charlotte, NC), was ripped 55-20 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC)

The Mavericks (6-0) will now prepare for their challenge against North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, NC). The Vikings come into the 4A I-Meck challenge with a 1-6 record. In their last challenge, North Mecklenburg was ripped by Hough [William A.] (Cornelius, NC), 28-16, in a league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 1-6 record. They play next when they travel to Lake Norman for a 4A I-Meck outing on Friday, October 7. Vance will encounter a Wildcats team coming off a 58-26 league loss to Hopewell (Huntersville, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-5.
