New York High School Softball - Sacred Heart nudges Maria Regina
April 26, 2012: Yonkers, NY 10703 Sacred Heart Irish (Yonkers, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Maria Regina Tigers (Hartsdale, NY), 11-10 in a league challenge.
The Irish now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Preston for a Catholic challenge on Tuesday, May 1. Sacred Heart will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Good Counsel Academy (White Plains, NY). The Panthers record now stands at 7-1.
With the loss, Maria Regina falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The Tigers host St. Catharine Academy (Bronx, NY) to battle the Crusaders in a Catholic challenge on Saturday, April 28. The Crusaders enter the challenge with a record of 0-4. St. Catharine Academy lost 8-7 in their recent league challenge against Cardinal Spellman (Bronx, NY)
