Missouri High School Basketball - Hillcrest over Joplin
February 10, 2009: Springfield, MO 65803 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Hillcrest Hornets (Springfield, MO) and the visiting Joplin Eagles (Joplin, MO), saw Hillcrest's basketball squad knock off Joplin by a score of 72-52.
With the victory, Hillcrest improves its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Central (Springfield, MO) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 12. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 22-2. Central won 66-65 in their recent non-league challenge against Rock Bridge (Columbia, MO)
Next up, the Eagles battle the Kickapoo Chiefs (Springfield, MO) in a Ozarks challenge, on Friday, February 13. Joplin will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 66-63 league win over Glendale (Springfield, MO).
