There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. The action last week included a one-point thriller between Carmel and Fort Wayne Snider.
No Stoppin 'Em
91. That was the combined point total for Evansville Memorial and Lawrenceburg when they went head to head last week, and it set the benchmark for all power ranking teams. Evansville Memorial blew past Lawrenceburg 56 - 35. Thanks to its success, Evansville Memorial cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 22nd spot.
Can't Touch This
Columbus East's 49 - 18 win over Terre Haute North Vigo last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Josh Major. Major rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Major as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Avon (3rd in the power rankings) and Center Grove (7th). Avon claimed a 32 - 21 victory over Center Grove. One of the main ringleaders for Avon was senior Cameron Misner, who tossed the ball for 261 yards and three TDs.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Evansville Memorial (22nd in the power rankings) and Danville (18th). The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. Danville and Evansville Memorial both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Danville with ten and Evansville Memorial with seven), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
