Senior receiver
James Quick of
Trinity (Louisville, Ky.) left the stadium on a stretcher after being hit in Friday night's playoff game against St. Xavier.
With Trinity trailing 14-0, Quick remained on the turf for several minutes after the hit and was eventually put into a neck brace, laid on a stretcher, and taken out of the stadium.
As Quick exited, he did manage to
give the thumbs-up sign to the anxious crowd.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound athlete is ranked by MaxPreps as the
No. 7 receiver in his class and the
No. 44 recruit overall. While Quick has drawn interest from numerous Division I football programs, he has yet to commit to a college.
We will continue to update the story as more details come out.
