Four-star linebacker Willie Gay of Starkville (Miss.) will be staying close to home.

The 6-foot-1, 223-pound senior pledged to Mississippi State on Wednesday morning, picking the Bulldogs over LSU, Michigan and Ole Miss.

Gay is the third-rated outside linebacker and No. 73 overall prospect by 247Sports.

He recorded 83 tackles, nine for loss, and three pass deflections on defense this season. Gay also logged 565 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on offense.

The stout outside linebacker helped the Yellowjackets win the Mississippi Class 6A state championship in 2015.
